Sometimes a collar just doesn’t cut it for a large, strong dog. In situations like this, a durable, high-quality harness can really make your life easier. But it’s also important to make sure that your dog is comfortable in their new harness. That’s why I’ve assembled this list of the best harnesses for large dogs out there. I’ve selected these harnesses based on factors such as how comfortable they are, their durability, overall quality, and the price.
Starting off a number one is the Kurgo dog harness. This harness features 5 adjustable points so you can customize it to fit your dog perfectly. It also has a padded chest piece for improved safety and overall comfort.
- Crash test certified
- Adjustable straps for improved comfort and safety
- Includes tether
- Padded chest piece
Day 1. I attached this to my monster 130 pound Rottweiler. We proceeded to embark (pun intended) on our best walk in years. We came across other dogs, squirrels, and mailmen. None were devoured and my arms remain comfortably in their sockets. Not only was pulling nearly impossible for him, but this harness also forced the beast to stay pretty close to my side instead of lagging behind or lunging ahead, Quality seems good but we’ll see how this holds up in another month or two.
What I love about this harness is that pulling pressure is evenly distributed to the body to prevent pulling and choking. It also has adjustable reflective side straps that ensure your dogs safety while your out and about.
- Easy on easy off design
- Pressure is evenly distributed
- 2 metal leash attachments
- Reflective adjustable slide straps
Every time we try to take our dog out, he always wants to run and pulls constantly, even though choking himself! I was very skeptical about a no-pull harness; I wasn’t sure how the placement of where the leash attaches would do anything.
We noticed a big difference in walking our dog immediately, during the very first use.
This harness is great for everyday wear. It adds enhanced control over your dog without risk of strain on throat, and allows for a full range of motion for walking or running.
- Easy on easy off
- 2 leash attachment points
- Sturdy & lightweight nylon material
- Padded chest piece
This is an excellent harness that is is easy to adjust (four points of adjustment), has two attachment points (top and front) and is designed so that it is not cut too high around the dog’s front legs, eliminating the chafing problem I’ve had with other harnesses. It’s easy to put on and take off and my dog doesn’t mind wearing it at all – he gets excited when he sees his “adventure jacket” come out.
This high-quality waterproof harness features reflective strips for improved visibility and safety. It’s also perfect for walking, running, hiking, training, hunting, outdoor adventure and more!
- Waterproof material
- Reflective straps for greater safety and visibility
- Even distributed pressure
- Sturdy & durable handle
I have 4 boxers, so I got 4 of these, 1 each in red, blue, black and purple. I was going to buy these from a different sight for $79 each but found the same ones under a different name on Amazon for $18 each…These are perfect. I would recommend these to anyone. They are very easy to adjust, easy to put on and remove.
Our final choice is Rabbitgoo dog harness. This harness features adjustable straps which guarantees a better fit for your dog. It also has reflective straps which give it high visibility to ensure your dog’s safety while out for a walk
- Adjustable slide straps
- Quick snap buckles
- Evenly distributed pressure
- Reflective straps
This is a sturdy, well built harness. Great product for the price. It’s adjustable and I can tell my 80 lb puppy will still have plenty of room to grow into the xtra large size. It is reflective, made of nice soft material and has a handle on the back. I would recommend and buy again in the future.
It’s important to remember that it takes time to find a harness that works for you and your dog. Feel free to leave a comment below if you have any questions or concerns regarding the dog harnesses I suggested. I would love to know which one you end of deciding on picking.
